ABOUT ME

Nourishment comes from all around us: food, relationships, emotions, spirit, and environment.

Food is an important building block, but it is only the starting point.

I am passionate about nutrition, movement and healthy well-being. I love to educate and share information as research uncovers more and more.

Raised with awareness of fresh, seasonal foods and the importance of vegetables; I considered my lifestyle relatively healthy; however certain chronic clues were telling me otherwise. They were minor - such as jaw-line acne and digestive discomfort, so I moved forward with not much consideration.

Upon having children, I dug into food as medicine and how a standard American diet does not nourish our bodies as it should and in fact causes inflammation which can present itself in a number of ways - such as the acne and digestive issues. While I did eat a lot of vegetables, I lacked variety and had inflammatory foods in my diet (for me anyway) such as dairy and gluten. Making some slight changes made all the world of difference in how I feel.

As I learned about inflammation being tied to these problems and more, I felt passionate that more people should understand this relationship in order to cure their own alignments and prevent future problems.

If we all had a little more awareness, I believe we can feel better and live more optimal lives. We treat ourselves and others better when we feel our best and I believe we all deserve that chance. Yes it’s true, you can put almost anything you want into your body and potentially live for a long time, but when we truly nourish and replenish, the body repays us with strength, happiness, longevity and fulfillment.
